CPS-Sec Workshop

CPS-Sec Workshop

The 9th IEEE International Workshop on Cyber-Physical Systems Security (CPS-Sec 2024)

Workshop Description

With the advent of emerging technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and edge computing, Cyber-Physical System (CPS) ecosystems are becoming more dynamic and adaptive. CPS comprises a diverse range of intelligent devices, from smartphones and tablets to industrial equipment, transportation infrastructure, medical devices, emergency response systems, power grids, and beyond. CPS systems are complex and interconnected to enable automation, real-time monitoring, and control of cyber and physical systems. The interconnected nature of CPS introduces new challenges related to data security and privacy, system resilience, and protection against evolving cyber threats, which directly impact society and the economy. Ensuring the security of CPS is vital to protect these systems from cyber threats that could manipulate physical processes, disrupt operations, or cause safety hazards.

In continuation of its success, the 9th IEEE International Workshop on Cyber-Physical Systems Security (CPS-Sec 2024) aims to serve as a platform for researchers and practitioners from both industry and academia interested in CPS security. CPS-Sec invites innovative submissions describing practical and theoretical solutions to cyber security challenges within CPS. Papers are welcomed from any application domain of CPS, including embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, Smart-Grid Systems, Critical Infrastructure Networks, and Transportation.

Example topics of interest are given below, but are not limited to:

  • Secure CPS architectures
  • Authentication mechanisms for CPS
  • Access control and anonymisation for CPS
  • Blockchain applications for CPS
  • Data security and privacy for CPS
  • Forensics for CPS
  • Intrusion detection for CPS
  • Trusted-computing in CPS
  • Energy-efficient and secure CPS
  • Availability, recovery, and auditing for CPS
  • Distributed secure solutions for CPS
  • Threat modelling and vulnerability analysis for CPS
  • AI-driven security solutions for CPS
  • Generative AI for CPS security
  •  Adversarial AI for CPS
  • Secure protocol design in CPS
  • Defence mechanisms against adversarial AI for CPS
  • Security of CPS in automotive systems
  • Security of embedded systems
  • Security of CPS in medical devices/systems
  • Security of industrial control systems
  • Security of Internet-of-Things
